Collier Podiatry: Michael Petrocelli, DPM, FACFAS, CWSP

Dr. Michael J. Petrocelli, a dedicated and compassionate board-certified foot and ankle surgeon, is associated with Collier Podiatry in Naples, Florida. Born and raised in North Providence, Rhode Island, Dr. Petrocelli pursued his undergraduate study in biological sciences from the University of Miami, Florida. He later earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, graduating cum laude from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Subsequently, he prosecuted a two-year intensive residency in foot and ankle surgery at Kern Hospital, Detroit, paying special attention to diabetic wound care and limb salvage. Keeping abreast with advancements in his field, Dr. Petrocelli takes an active interest in professional bodies like the Society for the Advancement of Wound Care, the American Diabetes Association, and the Podiatric Medical Associations at state, local and national level. Additionally, he holds Diplomate status with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, being board certified in foot surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Professional Wound Care Association. He also bestows his knowledge on diabetic wound and ulcer care upon fellow physicians by giving regular lectures. Dr. Petrocelli, who has been practicing since 1994, joined a large group practice in Tampa, Florida initially and then moved to Naples in 2002 to establish his own practice and live closer to his family. His medical proficiency extends to comprehensive lower extremity treatment encompassing significant and minor foot surgeries. He is the resident podiatrist at the Naples Community Hospital Wound Healing Center alongside his practice. Married for over 27 years and a father of one, Dr. Petrocelli continues his endeavor to provide the best possible care to his patients.
