About Donald C Fletcher M.D.

Dr. Fletcher boasts an illustrious career in the field of ophthalmology and low vision care. After completing his retina and vitreous training at Denver's Presbyterian Medical Center, he furthered his expertise in low vision care with a fellowship at San Francisco's Pacific Medical Center. His successful practices led him to his current roles; an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Low Vision Rehabilitation Committee Member for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Affiliate Scientist at Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco, California, and the Helen Keller Chair for Research and Education in Low Vision Rehabilitation. Additionally, his numerous accolades include repeated honors from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Meritorious Award for Outstanding Lifetime Contributions to Low Vision in 2006, and the Outstanding Contributions in Direct Services to Individuals with Low Vision Award from the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) in 2000.
