Dr. Alexander M Eaton, MD

Dr. Alexander M. Eaton, a renowned ophthalmology expert, is the founder and director of the Retina Health Center. Since his establishment of practice in Southwest Florida in 1993, he has become a leading authority on the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetes, and other macular conditions. His role as the principal investigator in countless research studies on these conditions is reflected in his numerous publications and his book, See Again! Reversing and Preventing Macular Degeneration. Displaying innovativeness, Dr. Eaton has also invented several surgical tools aimed at enhancing the safety and efficiency of surgeries, these accomplishments even landing him in the New York Times. Alongside his faculty appointment at his alma mater, Duke University, he holds widespread recognition that led to his appointment to Florida's Diabetes Advisory Council by Governor Jeb Bush. Served as the council's chair, Dr. Eaton has gained immense recognition for his comprehensive knowledge in eye care. His medical degree and retinal training were completed at Duke University, where he also held the position of chief resident.
