About Joel S. Grossman, MD

Dr. Joel Grossman, a practicing medical oncologist and hematologist based in Naples since 1999, earned his degree from Duke University and attended medical school at Wake Forest University. Subsequently, he completed his residency at the University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham, along with a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in California. As of 2012, he holds the position of Division Chief of Oncology and Hematology for the NCH Healthcare system, also chairing the FCS Compensation Committee. His past service includes two terms on the Florida Cancer Specialists Executive Board, which concluded in 2021. Dr. Grossman’s community involvement includes board membership of the Winged Foot Scholarship Committee, along with past service on the Cancer Alliance of Naples board. His latest published works can be found in the 2015 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the 2017 issue of Clinical Genitourinary Cancer. Away from his professional life, he is an avid baseball enthusiast and has managed several FCS-sponsored youth teams, including the 2021 Naples Cal Ripken Babe Ruth Orioles, who came third, the 2018 Minor A Orioles, who came second, and the 2016 Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute Direwolves, who clinched the Minors Championship from the last place in the regular season.
