Dr. Schlaefer attended and graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. While there she accumulated over 3300 hours of lecture time and more than 1200 hours of clinical work. Extra lecture and clinical hours were spent in labor and delivery, facial acupuncture and orthopedics. She attended a cadaver laboratory at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. She attained her Masters and became a Diplomate of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She then went on to receive her doctorate in Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture. Dr. Schlaefer treated guests and speakers with auricular acupuncture at a Dr. Oz conference in New York City. In 2010 Dr. Schlaefer went to China to study with the best doctors in the Oriental medical field. During the night she attended lectures at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and during the day she participated in clinical work at the Tian Tan Hospital studying acupuncture anesthesia and craniotomy, the China Academy of Medical Sciences Eye Hospital and the General Hospital of Chinese People's Armed Police Forces. Dr. Schlaefer is accredited by the CCAOM, (The Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), the NCCAOM (The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and is board certified and licensed to practice in both New York and Florida.
