About Raskauskas, Paul A, MD
Dr. Raskauskas, a Harvard and Duke University Medical School graduate, completed his medical training at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and specialized in retina and vitreous surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami. In 1992, he joined Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida in association with Dr. Walker and Dr. Wing. He expresses a keen interest in Geographic Atrophy, a variety of Age-Related Macular Degeneration, and holds the position of Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials. Dr. Raskauskas has been instrumental in leading numerous groundbreaking clinical trials that have driven the FDA to approve innovative therapies to combat retinal or vitreous diseases. His roles also include serving as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Scientist for the Schepens Eye Research Institute, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and on the Advisory Council for Lighthouse of Southwest Florida, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the blind. His community service efforts through the Lions Club of Bonita Springs won him the James W. Clower, Jr. MD Community Service Award, presented by the Florida Society of Ophthalmology Foundation.
