For nine years, I worked as a FedEx Ground Driver and Contractor, interacting with a diverse array of people from shipping-receiving departments, retail shops, and small businesses. Over time, these interactions developed into more personal relationships, often leading to unsolicited, yet insightful conversations. Invariably, when I'd ask, "how's it going today," the response would frequently veer towards complaints about despising their jobs and longing to escape. However, month after month, the sentiment remained the same, with little being done to change their respective situations. It dawned on me that many remained stuck in unsatisfactory roles simply due to a lack of alternatives or clarity on how to proceed. I often encountered individuals yearning for more freedom, the ability to work from home, higher income, and more control over their schedules. Interestingly enough, these were the same things I desired as well. This realization was the inception of my career transition journey. I decided that if I could successfully find this 'rare jewel' of a career path, I could pave the way for others to do the same. Essentially, the steps to this transition are wrapped in hard work. Though the work isn't necessarily challenging, it demands time, patience, and a steady focus on the ultimate objective. It's disheartening to see how people often dedicate years of loyalty to their jobs to support their families, yet hesitate in going the extra mile for their personal satisfaction. Always keeping the 'why' at the forefront while making a career change can provide the necessary motivation to reach the desired end.
